Vienna International Airport (VIE)

Welcome to Vienna International Airport (VIE)! Vienna International Airport is located in Schwechat, which is about 12 miles southeast of Vienna. The airport is centrally located and is serving as a bridge between Eastern and Western Europe. It is located 11 miles away from the city center and serves as a hub to Austrian Airlines.

It has a regular bus service between the airport and Wien Mitte/Landstrasse rail station. It is the busiest and biggest airport in Austria and is often referred to as Schwechat. It has one terminal separated in four check-in areas, and five concourses. The airport has a unique VIP-Terminal. The airport has expanded its terminal areas and now can handle more than 20 million passengers annually.

There is a wide selection of shops from bookstores to Swarovski and and restaurants from cafes to bars available for those with extra time. 


The Vienna S-Bahn line S7 provides a local service to the city center. S-Bahn tickets also allow further travel by underground bus or tram. The airport also lies directly adjacent to motorway A4 which leads from central Vienna to Budapest. It has its own Exit named Flughafen Wien-Schwechat. Furthermore there are also buses from the airport to various places in Vienna and to other cities including Bratislava, Budapest and Brno.
